Red signal to Indonesian airlines

Though there is no direct Indonesian airline to Europe, EU has issued this as a warning to avoid using them elsewhere in the world. The new list contains the names of all 51 carriers from Indonesia, eight from Moldova, Angolan carrier TAAG Angola Airlines, six from Bulgaria and Volare Aviation from Ukraine


 

EU has released a note warning its citizens not to use the Indonesian carriers. The list comprises of operators from Bulgaria, Moldova, Angola and Ukraine apart from Indonesian ones.

 

An EU official said, “European citizens should avoid flying with these carriers. They are really unsafe.”

Indonesia's ambassador to the EU, Nadjib Riphat Kesoema, said (to Reuters), “It is our commitment and our determination to have safety in our civil aviation. We hope that the European Union can also give us the opportunity to improve.”

 

The main cause for this is that Indonesian airlines have suffered a string of accidents in this year itself.
